1. Plan Plan Plan
I plan everything. It's either my strong point or a major weakness...maybe both. Since I generally know where I am headed every day at Disney, I think ahead to what I want to eat. If you know that you want to eat something high calorie later in the day, then you can try to make better choices in the morning. Many parks offer fresh fruit at select booths or at Starbucks locations. Starting the day with a banana or an apple, will allow you to enjoy the Fried Chicken at Homecomin' that night without regret! Or if its the Mickey Cinnamon Bun at Animal Kingdom that you are craving, you can plan to enjoy a more balanced lunch later that night. By thinking ahead to what you want to indulge on, you can make better choices throughout the day to balance those.
3. Don't Eat Breakfast on Property
Whether you are staying at Adventureland Villa or on-property, by eating at the house or in your room, you will save calories and money! I focus on protein protein protein. I personally love Advocare Meal Replacement Shakes in the morning, but lots of other Shakes will work just as well. If you get an early shot of healthy protein in your body without the sugar of most Theme Park breakfasts, you will stay fuller longer and avoid lots of unnecessary sugar! By eating "at home" you can also make sure to include that banana or apple. Even if you choose to indulge later in the day, by getting one good meal early in the day, you start yourself on a solid path for making the right decisions and for sticking to those plans from Tip #1!
