Sure, everyone flocks to the more classic or thrilling attractions such as Peter Pan, Dumbo, or Thunder Mountain, but have you stopped and appreciated the more underrated attractions at the Magic Kingdom? They are the hidden gems of the park that offer shorter lines, shade, and maybe just a bit of relaxation in an otherwise long day!
1. Tom Sawyer's Island
2. Mad Hatter's Tea Party
Located between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, the Tea Cups are a ride you either love or hate. Many adults who are prone to motion sickness absolutely despise the tea cups with their double rotations, but my kid LOVES THIS. And there is never a line over 20 minutes.
3. Walt Disney World Railroad
4. Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover
The Peoplemover!! While some just pass this by and don't think twice about hopping on the motorized ramp, this is a don't miss attraction for my family! The ride, itself, takes you through the interiors of Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain, and around the exteriors of the Carousel of Progress and other Tomorrowland areas. It's fun. Hop on! Enjoy putting your feet up for a moment or two!
5. Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse
Admittedly, the treehouse is not my favorite attraction, probably because I just don't like the Swiss Family Robinson film. However, it is a huge hit with the boys in my house. My husband and the kids revel in the idea of building a house in the trees, so this attraction is a dream come true for them. Beware that there are a lot of steps going up and out of the treeshouse. If you have mobility issues, I recommend grabbing a Dole Whip and waiting for your crew at the exit (Its usually where I am...)!
